CFN Membership Tops 3,000

The Campus Freedom Network is becoming a force to be reckoned with on campus and an important component of FIRE's efforts to secure liberty on campus. We are proud to announce that the Campus Freedom Network has passed the 3,000th member mark.

Deanna Hodge of the University of Texas at Arlington is the CFN's 3,000th member. Just as we did for our 1,000th member Daniel Guglielmo and our 2,000th member Josh Freedman, we will send Deanna a package of FIRE goodies. In addition to the free FIRE t-shirt she received just for signing up for the CFN, she will also receive a FIRE polo shirt, a FIRE pen, a FIRE baseball cap, a copy of Indoctrinate U, and an autographed copy of The Shadow University by FIRE co-founders Alan Charles Kors and Harvey Silverglate.

On why she joined the CFN, Deanna wrote, "This is the first campus-oriented network of free speech and expression that I have found as being accessible and active. Liberties cannot and should not be considered as being doled out by the government; liberties belong to all people and should not be relinquished." She has promised to wear her FIRE swag around campus to let her administration know that there are those on campus who will not stand idly by while students' rights are abrogated. With members like Deanna, the CFN is becoming a force to be reckoned with and an important component of FIRE's efforts to secure individual rights on campus.

Congratulations to Deanna. We look forward to working with her on behalf of liberty at UT Arlington. Students and faculty members who want to join the struggle for individual rights on campus should register for the CFN here.
