FIRE Is Giving Away Tons of New FIRE Gear to Celebrate the Birth of the FIRE Student Network

Along with FIRE’s new logo and website, FIRE has a new Student Network! FIRE’s Campus Freedom Network has changed its name, but not its focus. Like the CFN, the FIRE Student Network is a coalition of students who recognize the importance of advancing civil liberties— particularly First Amendment rights—on their campuses.

What does this mean for you? As a FIRE Student Network (FSN) member, you:

  • receive a free FIRE T-shirt (there are several new T-shirt options!)
  • receive a once-a-month email update specific to students
  • receive invitations to exclusive educational opportunities and FIRE events
  • receive updates when there is a FIRE event at your college
  • have direct access to FIRE staff to discuss the best ways to promote student rights at your school

If you aren’t already a member, join for free at thefire.org/get-involved/student-network/register/.

This also marks a new era for the FSN—one in which FIRE will be more accessible to students than ever before. We’re using Instagram and Vine, for example, both with the username FIREStudentNetwork. If you host a free speech wall, hold a protest, go flyering, or just are hanging out with fellow fans of free speech, post it on Vine or Instagram with the hashtag #theFSN! We will, of course, continue maintaining our presence on Facebook and Twitter (@TheFIREorg).

If you want FIRE swag featuring our brand new logo, send a shout out to the FIRE Student Network on Twitter, Facebook, Vine, or Instagram using the #theFSN hashtag! Next Thursday, we will give away 10 FIRE T-shirts and a FIRE gift basket to randomly selected participants!

At the end of the day, our number one goal is to provide you with the tools you need to change the culture of censorship on college campuses from the inside, so don’t hesitate to contact us at students@thefire.org.
