Program Associate, Campus Freedom Network

FIRE is seeking a dynamic, hard working program associate to coordinate FIRE's campus outreach programs. This position will be responsible for recruiting students and faculty members to FIRE's network through conferences, social events, and new media; maintaining and engaging FIRE's network of campus contacts; overseeing FIRE's Summer Internship Program for undergraduate students; and planning FIRE's annual student summer conference.

The successful candidate will have excellent writing skills, a good work ethic, exemplary planning and organizational skills, and an ability to handle dynamic, challenging, and changing situations.

This position is ideal for an individual who seeks to work with students and faculty to help execute FIRE's mission.

Assistant to the President

FIRE is seeking an energetic and entrepreneurial person to join our team as the assistant to the president. This position entails a wide range of responsibilities, including organizing and executing targeted publicity campaigns; spearheading important, specialized projects and presidential initiatives; assisting with writing articles, correspondence, and blog posts; and maintaining the president's schedule.

In addition to providing personal, executive support to the president, this position will also work with the director of development to increase the fundraising capabilities of the department.

The successful candidate to become assistant to the president will have excellent writing skills and a strong work ethic, will be a self-starter, and will have the ability to work independently.

This position is ideal for an individual seeking hands-on experience in multiple areas of the operation of a nonprofit, including administration and development. This position presents a unique opportunity for an individual to grow professionally and has in the past helped propel employees to high-level positions at FIRE.

The envisioned start date for this position is in March 2013. A specific date is negotiable.
