FIRE at the Young Americans for Liberty National Convention This Week!

The FIRE Student Network is on the move!

Today, the FSN team and other FIRE staffers will be heading to the George Mason University School of Law in Arlington, Virginia, to attend the Young Americans for Liberty (YAL) National Convention and connect with student activists from across the country.

The four-day convention brings together 300 YAL student leaders. Attendees will have the chance to hear from many exciting proponents of liberty including FIRE President Greg Lukianoff and FIRE Senior Vice President Robert Shibley.

Greg will be talking to attendees about how to create change on campus with his talk, “Stand Up For Speech: How to Fight for Freedom of Expression at Your Campus” on Friday, August 1 at 5:40 p.m.

Robert will be speaking on a panel with staff members from Alliance Defending Freedom and Campus Reform to discuss “Challenging Your School’s Free Speech Code” at 2:10 p.m. on Saturday, August 2. The panel will be streamed live on YAL’s website.

We encourage all conference attendees to stop by our table to join the FSN! By signing up, you will get one of our new T-shirts or First Amendment tank tops, and FIRE staff will be available to answer your questions about how to amplify your voice on campus.

To invite a FIRE speaker to your school or conference, visit FIRE’s Speakers Bureau page or email Molly Nocheck at molly@thefire.org to set up your event.
