Sexual harassment can include unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, and other verbal or nonverbal conduct of a sexual nature. If the conduct is sufficiently serious—that is, sufficiently severe or pervasive—to deny or limit the victim’s ability to participate in or benefit from the College’s educational program (in the case of students) or to unreasonably interfere with the person’s work (in the case of employees), it may create a hostile environment. Sexual harassment also includes unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, and other verbal or physical conduct of a sexual nature when: … such conduct has the purpose or effect of unreasonably interfering with an individual’s academic or work performance by creating an intimidating, hostile, or offensive working or educational environment.
