By law, sexual advances, requests for sexual favors and other verbal or physical conduct of a sexual nature constitute sexual harassment when: … Such conduct has the purpose or effect of substantially interfering with an individual’s performance or creating an intimidating, hostile or offensive employment or educational environment.

Harassment may … be implied by unwelcome physical contact; sexual remarks about a person’s clothing, body or sexual relations; conversations or jokes and stories of a sexual nature; or the display in the work place or use in the classroom of sexually explicit materials which are inappropriate or without defensible educational purpose.
