Over the course of this week, we have been counting down the best reasons to donate to FIRE. We asked you to tell us why you support us, and here's what a few of you had to say:

"Ever since the SWC Controversy in Chula Vista that started on October 22nd, I have become more involved in fighting for what's right, especially in a school setting. I support my teachers teaching students everything that there is to know about life in general and the difference between what's wrong and right. Thanks FIRE for help supporting teachers and students alike! :)"

-Veronica Giselle Golenia

"FIRE has a great track record of pushing forward the discourse on students' rights. I support them because it isn't always easy for a student to make themselves heard, and this forum helps promote otherwise ignored issues!"

-Chris Bertone

"I am very involved in the world of higher education, and I recognize the importance of allowing students to grow and learn by expressing themselves freely. I would like to thank FIRE for empowering today's students. The work that all of you do is very important to the future of our society!"

-Lisa Feden

"When I was a senior at IIT, my fraternity was sentenced to sensitivity training through a bogus judiciary process. During Greek week, we did a satirical skit about members of the student life office that offended the Greek advisor and some number of unidentified students (which the consensus on campus was that those students did not really exist). The following year, I invited FIRE to speak on campus. The student life office opposed the speaker and intentionally made it difficult to advertise and would not let me post flyers. As a result, the event was not as well attended as I would have liked, but it was a very cathartic experience for the students. That was about 5 years ago and I have been a supporter of FIRE since."

-James Baldwin

"I am a community college philosophy professor and saw the caustic effects of political correctness and disdain for freedom of thought throughout my many years of schooling. Higher education has become a parody of itself in its self-righteous attempt to undermine diversity of thought."

-Michael Valle

"I support FIRE because I believe, inter alia, that sunlight is the best disinfectant."

-Jeff Stacey

"FIRE is important because I have seen professors and college administrators break federal law and smear people to control the speech on campus. FIRE is fast becoming the premier rights group of our time."

-Chuck Norton

Thank you all so much for your kind words!
