How You Can Ensure That FIRE Remains Strong on Campus

If you have been visiting The Torch this week, you probably have noticed we are in full-swing back-to-school mode. We have created a one-stop shop for students, professors, parents, concerned citizens, and members of the legal community to get prepared for the 2011–2012 academic year: our "Free Speech Toolbox." This toolbox provides quick links to the best resources for defending First Amendment rights on campus. Share this toolbox with anyone you know who has a stake in higher education. It might be the thing that saves them or their loved ones from becoming the next victim of campus censorship.

Also, in preparation for the start of the academic year, FIRE staffers have been authoring a series of blogs, identified with a nifty back-to-school logo. When you read about all of the many resources FIRE provides college-goers, or our recent efforts to challenge the threats to due process rights posed by the federal Department of Education, or our work securing free speech victories for students and professors, please remember that FIRE is only able to do this work because of the support of our friends and donors. Every letter we send, student we help, and speech code we overturn is only possible because of the donations we receive.

Most students are back on campus already, and after Labor Day, the 2011–2012 academic year will have officially begun. There is no better time to join FIRE's fight. Today, consider either making your first gift or renewing your commitment to our mission with a $10, $25, or $50 donation. This year is going to be an important one for liberty; help ensure that FIRE's work is stronger than ever. Every dollar helps.

As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, all donations you make today are 100% tax deductible.
