Sexual Harassment Policies (Learn More)

Student Handbook: Sexual Harassment Policy 07-08
Hostile Environment Harassment - Unwelcome conduct that would not have occurred but for the student's gender, that is severe or pervasive enough to make a reasonable person of the same sex believe that the conditions of the student's education are altered and the academic environment is hostile or abusive. The complained-of conduct need not be sexual in nature to constitute hostile environment sexual harassment.

A student will be found responsible for harassment if he or she engages in intimidating verbal, written or physical behavior that is directed at an individual and, a) involves an expressed or implied threat to another person's safety, academic pursuits, University employment, or participation in activities sponsored by the University or organizations or groups related to the University, or b) would materially obstruct or impair such pursuits, employment or participation, or c) creates an intimidating, hostile, or demeaning environment for such pursuits, employment or participation.

Student Handbook: Demonstration/Outdoor Assembly Regulations 07-08
Outdoor assemblies and any event requiring amplification are limited to areas not adjacent to academic classroom facilities and unless specially directed to another location, will take place on the Student Center patio. Registered University organizations approved for flag raising ceremonies may hold events adjacent to the Student Center flag pole. In addition such assemblies will occur during the hours of the University free period, Wednesday from 2:30 to 5:00 PM. All other facilities and locations are strictly reserved for University sponsored events.

Student Handbook: Guidelines for Responsible Computing 07-08
You must be sensitive to the public nature of shared facilities, and take care not to display on screens in such locations images, sounds or messages which could create an atmosphere of discomfort or harassment for others. You must also refrain from transmitting to others in any location inappropriate images, sounds or messages which might violate the college statements on harassment.

Signs, which promote the consumption of alcohol, the use of controlled dangerous substances, or anything, viewed as obscene and inappropriate behavior may not be displayed in any public area (e.g., windows, students room windows, doors, common areas, etc.).
