Catalog: Policy on Discrimination and Harassment 06-08
Individual (s) or
group (s) actions or activities that promote degrading or demeaning
social stereotypes based upon age, disability, ethnicity, gender, national
origin, religion or sexual orientation will not be tolerated. Students
who behave abusively toward members of the campus community
based on the aforementioned criteria will face serious consequences
and will be subject to disciplinary action. Any student who commits
acts of discrimination or harassment manifested by acts or threats of
physical abuse, verbal abuse and/or hazing activities may be subject to
suspension or expulsion from the University.

Catalog: Nondiscrimination and Student Conduct: Policy on Sexual Harassment 06-08
Sexual harassment is defined as gender-related verbal or physical conduct that has the intent or effect of unreasonably interfering with an individual’s education performance by creating an intimidating, hostile or offensive environment. . Sexual harassment includes such behavior as sexual advances, request for sexual favors, repeated derogatory remarks of a sexist nature and other verbal or physical conduct of a sexual nature directed toward a student (s) when one or more of the following circumstances are present: [...] The conduct has the purpose or effect of interfering with a student’s academic performance or creating an intimidating, hostile, offensive or otherwise learning environment or adversely affecting any student.

Residence Life Student Handbook: Harassment 07-08
Harassment: Verbal, written, electronic, or other types of harassment - including, but not limited to, sexual, racial, ethnic, or religious harassment that causes injury to, distress, or emotional or physical discomfort of community members and/or Residential Life staff members will be considered a violation of this policy. Threatening remarks towards one’s family or loved ones is also prohibited under this policy.

Intolerance: Acts of intolerance towards a community member or any Residential Life staff member disrupts the educational environment necessary for furthering the mission of the university. Acts of intolerance or bias-related incidents are behaviors, which by intent, action and/or outcome harm or threaten to harm a person or a group of people. Use of campus facilities may not be denied a speaker* on the basis of his/her expected presentation. It is Trustee and University policy that the campus endeavor to present a balanced program of speakers during the year and that policy must be followed. Proper forms need to be executed each time a club or organization presents, publicly, a speaker. Such records are needed to apprise university officials of any potential problems involving necessary protocol and/or security which might arise. * Speakers invited for a presentation in connection with the academic program in a classroom setting are exempt.
