Student Handbook: Racial Harassment 07-08
"Racial Harassment" is defined as extreme or outrageous acts or communications that
are intended to harass, intimidate, or humiliate students, faculty, staff or visitors on account of
race, color, or national origin and that reasonably cause them to suffer severe emotional distress.

"Sexual harassment" is defined as unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, and
other verbal or physical conduct of a sexual nature when: [...] such conduct has the purpose or effect of
unreasonably interfering with an individual's performance or creating an intimidating, hostile, or
offensive employment or academic environment.

Student Handbook: Distribution Policy 07-08
The distribution of literature, publications, books, flyers, handouts, and other written materials on
the campus of Angelo State University by a group or person, whether or not a student or an employee [...] is limited to the designated Free Expression Area between the hours
of 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, and 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon, Saturday.
No materials which include “fighting words” expressions, obscenities, vulgarities, libel, slander, expressions which are
an incitement to imminent lawlessness, or impermissible solicitation can be distributed.
Student Handbook: Free Expression Area 07-08
The Free Expression Area is currently located between the Porter Henderson Library and the
Academic Building, and is bound by sidewalks on the north, east, and west. Use of the area, which is subject to
reasonable time, place, and manner, requires that it be scheduled through the Dean of Student Life. Additional areas and
scheduling guidelines are now being developed.
