Sexual Harassment Policy 07-08
A member of The Evergreen State College community will be judged to have committed an act of sexual harassment in either of the following circumstances:
[...] when that person, through verbal, written or physical conduct of a sexual nature, adversely affects another person's ability to work or learn, by creating a hostile, intimidating or offensive environment.
Unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, and other verbal, written or physical conduct of a sexual nature constitute sexual harassment when:
[...] c) such sexual conduct interferes unreasonably with an individual's work or academic performance, or when such sexual conduct creates an intimidating, hostile or offensive environment.

(8) Harm/harassment: Discriminating against, sexually harassing, and threatening or intimidating against another person by word or gesture, or physically molesting or assaulting another person which substantially harms or causes reasonable apprehension of such harm to that person or which is intended to harm him or her. This includes, but is not limited to, physical, psychological or sexual harm/harassment or harassment based on religion, nationality, ability/disability, gender, sexual orientation, racial or ethnic origin, cultural identity or political affiliation. This provision in the codes is intended to protect members of the college community against damage or threat of damage to property and injury or threat of injury to physical person or psychological well-being.

A central focus of those values is freedom - freedom to explore ideas and to discuss those ideas in both speech and print; freedom from reprisal for voicing concerns and beliefs, no matter how unpopular. It's this freedom that is so necessary in a vibrant, dynamic learning community.
Appropriate Use of Information Technology Resources 07-08
Users of college information technology resources should: [...] demonstrate a respect for other user's [...] rights to freedom from intimidation, discrimination, and harassment.
In light of all the policies outlined above in this document, the following are examples of specifically prohibited activities:
