Residence Life Conduct Code: Residence Hall Regulations 07-08
No student shall engage in any discriminatory activity nor create a hostile environment based upon color of skin, gender, sexual orientation, or ethnic origin. These activities include but are not limited to verbal slander or slurs, written comments, prejudicially motivated physical assault or exclusionary practices.
Student Code of Conduct & Judicial Policy - University of Massachusetts Lowell Standards 07-08
Racism - No student shall engage in any discriminatory activity based upon color of skin or ethnic or national origin. Racist activities include but are not limited to verbal or written threats, slander or slurs, and racially motivated physical assaults on or off campus.
University of Massachusetts Policy Against Intolerance 07-08
The Board of Trustees denounces intolerance particularly that based on ethnicity, culture,
religion, race or sexual orientation which interferes with those rights guaranteed by law,
and insists that such conduct has no place in a community of learning. We also recognize
the obligation of the University to protect the rights of free inquiry and expression, and
nothing in the Resolution in Support of Pluralism or Policy Against Intolerance shall be
construed or applied so as to abridge the exercise of rights under the Constitution of the
United States and other Federal and State laws.
Equal Opportunity and Outreach: Sexual Harassment 07-08
Sexually Harassing Behavior includes:
(1) gender harassment, including sexist statements and behavior that convey insulting, degrading, or sexist attitudes [....]
Sexual Harassment is unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, and other verbal or physical conduct of a sexual nature when [...]
(3) such conduct has the purpose or effect of unreasonably interfering with an individual’s work performance or creating an intimidating, hostile, or offensive working environment.
Residence Life Conduct Code: Residence Hall Regulations 07-08
Against persons - No student shall assault, threaten, harass, stalk, haze or otherwise physically or psychologically abuse his or her self or any other person on or off campus including a University or city official acting in the line of duty.

Against persons - No student shall assault, threaten, harass, stalk, haze or otherwise physically or
psychologically abuse his or her self or any other person on or off campus including a University
or city official acting in the line of duty. [...]. This shall include but not be limited to:

Conduct less than a physical attack or physical interference which interferes with a
person in the conduct of his or her customary or usual affairs, such as the posting of
threatening letters directed to the person, the use of threatening language directed at another,
harassing or threatening telephone calls or email, or the vandalism of a person's room (e.g. by
graffiti). The University has special concern for incidents in which persons are subject to
such conduct because of membership in a particular racial, religious, gender or sexual
orientation group.
