Minnie Quach
Minnie Quach served as a FIRE program officer from 2004 to 2005. A Philadelphia native, she earned a B.A. cum laude in economics and a Foreign Language Citation in Spanish from Harvard College, and an Ed.M. in international education policy from the Harvard Graduate School of Education (HGSE). As an undergraduate, Minnie devoted much of her time to student-run education and leadership programs in the Boston area, including the Boston Refugee Youth Enrichment (BRYE) programs. Minnie also taught and worked in a rural community project in Mexico with the American Friends Service Committee and advocated for immigrant workers’ rights at Instituto Laboral de La Raza in San Francisco. As a graduate student, Minnie fought for students’ rights and faculty diversity as HGSE student government president, was a teaching fellow for “Microeconomics: A Policy Tool for Educators,” and cofounded an independent-study course called “Student-Initiated Teaching.” Her interests include exploring the role of critical theory, religion, culture, and class in educational environments across the globe. Minnie recently received a 2005 HGSE Alumni of Color Achievement Award for her contributions to the field of education.
