SP2. Be able to analyze knowledge, values (ethical issues), politics (power), and economics surrounding social welfare problems, and integrate such assessments in planning, implementing and evaluating organizing and policy practice interventions.
SP3. Demonstrate the ability to develop comprehensive strategies and tactics and implement them to address complex social justice problems (2nd semester).
SP4. Evaluate progressive change goals and objectives in a concrete and measurable manner.
SP5. Use policy practice skills to employ them in legislative, executive, judicial, organizational, and/or community settings.
SP6. Demonstrate an understanding of financial management, budgetary issues, fundraising, and fiscal analysis with regard to progressive change efforts.
SP7. Understand leadership roles and develop the progressive skills and knowledge required to engage in organizational development, build coalitions, and promote progressive social change.
SP8. Identify and assess personal leadership style in order to work toward social and economic justice by demonstrating how to engage in “differential use of self’ with different action and target systems and key stakeholders.
SP9. Demonstrate how to use progressive empowerment and leadership development techniques with diverse and oppressed populations, including group development skills, group interaction skills, and constituent leadership development skills.
SP10. Demonstrate how to develop a strategic media plan for a specific progressive change effort.
SP11. Develop good oral, written, and information technology skills for communicating and advancing progressive change efforts.
