As outraged reaction from FIRE supporters to Valdosta State University’s (VSU’s) expulsion of student T. Hayden Barnes for protesting construction of parking garages on campus continues to roll in to FIRE’s offices, Hayden’s story is simultaneously gaining traction online and in local media.
 
 
The Student Press Law Center draws attention to the facts of the case here, as does the National Review’s Phi Beta Cons. Elsewhere online, Ifeminists.com, Fundamentals and Falsehoods, SCSU Scholars, and Chris Finan (president of the American Booksellers Foundation for Free Expression) all highlight VSU’s incredible abuse of power.
