1 for All wants to fund your campus First Amendment event

Ever wanted to throw a large-scale event on campus celebrating your First Amendment rights? Now’s your chance. 1 for All, a program that has been building public awareness about the First Amendment since 2007, is now accepting grant applications for campus events celebrating our First Amendment freedoms.

1 for All is looking to fund creative, large-scale events that will draw in students across campus:

  • Have amazingly creative students at your school? Throw a concert or an art show.
  • Have a killer writing program? Celebrate their work with a storytellers event.
  • Have students working on studies pushing the boundaries of science, political thought, or other fields? Highlight their work by hosting a series of mini-presentations about their work and the role academic freedom plays in different disciplines.

Use your school’s strengths and show students how their interests and studies are supported by the First Amendment. Use your imagination and think big!

Applications must be submitted to 1forall@mtsu.edu by Dec. 1 and events should take place before June 1, 2019. 1 for All will fund up to 75 percent of event costs, so make sure you submit a well thought out preliminary budget.

1 for All was founded by former USA Today Ken Paulson, now dean of the Middle Tennessee State University College of Media and Entertainment, and is now based out of that university as part of the John Seigenthaler Chair of Excellence in First Amendment Studies.
