David King

David King joined FIRE in March of 2023. After a first career in school administration in the People’s Republic of China, he felt a calling to return home to the United States and join the effort to defend Americans’ civil rights and liberties.  As the director of network support with the then-fledgling equal rights organization FAIR, he helped start dozens of volunteer chapters across the U.S. and pioneered the organization’s expansion into Canada. Now, he is thrilled to be part of spearheading FIRE’s foray into off-campus free speech activism. In his spare time, he is building an electric truck. He also enjoys cooking, working on computers and cars, hiking, and cycling.
