Applications open for FIRE’s Spring 2022 legal clerkship program

FIRE is excited to invite all first-, second-, and third-year law students interested in defending civil liberties on college campuses to apply for our Spring 2022 Legal Clerkship Program.

Our clerks spend the semester working with civil liberties attorneys on a range of projects, including litigation, policy analysis for our Policy Reform and Legislative Policy teams, advocacy with our Individual Rights Defense Program, and more. Your work will help FIRE protect student and faculty freedoms of speech, association, conscience, religion, academic freedom, as well as their rights to due process.

FIRE will work with law schools to provide clerks course credit for their work at FIRE. Clerks will develop quality relationships with experienced civil rights attorneys and gain invaluable experience in key areas of civil liberties. For more details about our Legal Clerkship Program, including application instructions, please visit our Legal Clerkship page

We look forward to hearing from you!
