FIRE is pleased to announce that we are now accepting applications for our 2016 Summer Internship. FIRE internships provide college students the opportunity to spend the summer doing substantive work defending individual rights on campus.

We are looking for intelligent, energetic undergraduates (rising sophomores, juniors, and seniors) who are passionate about FIRE’s mission to join our eight-week, paid Summer Internship Program. Working from FIRE headquarters in the heart of historic downtown Philadelphia—right across the street from Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell—interns will research and write about FIRE cases and issues, help with administrative tasks, and develop strategies for encouraging open discourse on their own campuses. Interns also participate in weekly educational seminars with FIRE staff and other prominent civil liberties experts and play a central role in planning and conducting FIRE’s annual student conference. The internship will run from Monday, June 6, through Friday, July 29. Interns will receive a stipend of $2,800.

The deadline to apply is March 7, 2016.

FIRE’s internships afford students an incredible opportunity to promote civil liberties on campus while learning about the internal operations of a national nonprofit organization. Interested students are highly encouraged to apply! For full details, please visit www.thefire.org/internship.
