Apply Today to FIRE’s Summer Internship Program!

Are you an undergraduate looking for something fun and challenging to do over the summer? FIRE is accepting applications for our 2017 Summer Internship!

Our internship program attracts bright, dedicated students from across the country who are interested in FIRE’s mission and work. From our office in historic Philadelphia (just steps from Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell), these students spend the summer working closely with FIRE’s staff to defend civil liberties on America’s college campuses.

Interns will work directly with our Campus Outreach, Policy Reform, Development, Litigation, and Media teams and gain key insights into the mission, work, and administration of the nation’s premier campus civil liberties defense organization. FIRE interns research and write about FIRE cases and issues, help with administrative tasks, and develop strategies for encouraging open discourse on their own campuses. Interns also benefit from weekly educational seminars with FIRE staff and other prominent civil liberties experts to discuss the moral, philosophical, and legal foundations of FIRE’s work.

FIRE is looking for rising sophomores, juniors, and seniors who have excellent research, writing, and communication skills. The ability to work under deadlines and a sense of humor are also important. The program runs for eight weeks, from Monday, June 5, through Friday, July 28, and interns receive a $2,800 stipend.

Please direct any questions or inquiries you may have to internships@thefire.org. Decisions are rolling and our applicant pool is competitive, so apply today!
