Cynthia, a native of the Washington, D.C. area, graduated summa cum laude from Emory University with a B.A. in English. She earned her Ph.D. in psychology from Harvard University. For her doctoral dissertation, she did research on false memory and unusual memory phenomena; Cynthia has discussed her doctoral research on Big Picture Science. Cynthia was an assistant professor at Coastal Carolina University. While at Coastal Carolina University, she also consulted on the “Brainwashed” episode of the Discovery Channel’s Curiosity Series. In her free time, Cynthia teaches at the Harvard Summer School. Cynthia lives with her family (human and pug) in the Boston area.
