Josh Haverlock

Program Officer, High School Outreach

Josh Haverlock
Josh Haverlock, hailing from Syracuse, NY, received his undergraduate degree with a dual major in adolescent education and history from SUNY Oneonta in 2010. He went on to earn his M.S. in adolescent education in 2013 from SUNY Cortland before moving to Washington, D.C., in 2014 to intern with the National Education Association’s Center for Organizing. Josh gained valuable nonprofit experience first with the curricula developer Great Minds, then later with the American Association for the Advancement of Science.

At FIRE, Josh embraces being at the intersection of two of his passions: education and free speech. As a member of the High School Outreach Program, he works to increase the exposure to and awareness of FIRE's mission at the K-12 level.

In his spare time Josh enjoys biking around D.C., playing the cello, being overly competitive at racket sports, unabashedly cheering on the Buffalo Bills, and volunteering with an adult GED program.
