Michael, a native Ohioan, graduated summa cum laude from The Ohio State University in 2019 with a B.A. in World Politics. He was president of the Ohio State chapter of the Alexander Hamilton Society, a discussion and debate-oriented foreign policy organization that helped teach him the value of free speech on campus. Michael then spent a summer as a Hertog Foundation Political Studies Fellow before joining The Public Interest Fellowship, a two-year continuing education program that connects young political and policy professionals in Washington, D.C., with job opportunities. Now at FIRE, Michael is excited to devote his full attention to defending civil liberties in academia. In his free time, Michael enjoys watching and playing soccer and other sports, listening to audiobooks while on long runs, and spending time with his wife and their black lab.
