As civil unrest in the wake of the homicide of George Floyd continued, a Kansas State student posted tweets voicing his opinion of Floyd and the circumstances surrounding his death. After others, including many Kansas State student-athletes, called on the university to take action in response to the student’s tweets, Kansas State President Richard Myers indicated that the university was “reviewing its options.” On June 30, FIRE wrote to Kansas State urging the university to remain true to its constitutional obligations and laudable commitments to free expression.
