Challenge to MPAA Rating System Fails

A Miramax challenge to the Motion Picture Association of America’s X rating of the Spanish film “Tie Me Up! Tie Me Down!fails although a federal district court judge found the ratings system to be censorship and warned the Motion Picture Association of America to reform the entire system. This case ultimately leads to the creation of the NC-17 rating for explicit films.
