Should window decorations be considered inappropriate, the resident will be requested to
remove them. Controversial or antagonistic materials might draw personal confrontations
from others within the community who may be offended by the content. The placing of
inappropriate or offensive material including, but not limited to, nudity or extremely violent
items on the outside of a room door may result in immediate removal. Community
standards are stated as decorations or displayed material one would find in the community
Posting of obscene, offensive, or drug/alcohol related materials on the outside of a resident’s individual door/room will be removed at the discretion of the Residence Hall Director/Area Coordinator.
All decorations in common areas in the residence hall must take into consideration that obscene, distasteful displays which are demeaning to an individual’s or group’s race, ethnic or religious background, and/or gender or ability, will not be permitted and will be removed immediately, at the discretion of Housing and Residential Services Office.
The doors of student rooms may be decorated but are considered public areas. Such decorations may not damage door surfaces or create health/safety hazards. In addition, obscene or offensive materials are strictly prohibited.
Students may personalize their individual
rooms unless it damages the room or offends
members of the Le Moyne community.
Posters of an offensive nature cannot be placed in public view, i.e. windows, outside doors, etc. Window decorations (posters, lights, etc.) that advertise alcoholic beverages are prohibited.
