FIRE Launches Interactive Victory Map, New Fundraising Initiatives

If you've been clicking around our Support section lately, you may have noticed a new feature: an interactive map featuring all of FIRE's public case victories. Throughout the past ten years, FIRE has won more than 160 public victories at over 120 colleges and universities nationwide—and using this map, you can see all of them! FIRE's map chronicles our victories across the nation, featuring case summaries, video coverage (just look for the TV icons!), testimonials, and links to more information. Want to see what cases have been won in your own backyard? Look no further!

I encourage you to take a few minutes and have some fun clicking around this map and learning more about some of FIRE's greatest victories from 1999 to today. The support of our friends, allies, and donors has made each and every one of these victories possible.

I'm also excited to share some of FIRE's year-end initiatives with you. Today, we launched a new event on our Facebook page inviting our friends to "Let Freedom Ring on Campus this Holiday Season." I hope you'll check out this page, invite friends, and share it with others. And if you haven't yet done so, make sure to become a fan of FIRE on Facebook.

We've also launched a webpage devoted exclusively to our new Video Campaign, where you can donate to the campaign and track our progress towards raising the $25,000 we need to secure a matching grant to hire a Video Fellow in 2010. The fellow will capture footage of FIRE's most outrageous cases on video and will expose the truth about what's happening on campuses today.

And if you're thinking about donating to your alma mater this year, you may want to reconsider: FIRE will soon be unveiling a new initiative that will let you notify your alma mater if you choose to send a portion of the donation you would have sent to them to FIRE instead. If we can show schools that they're losing money because of their unconstitutional policies, we can generate an even greater incentive for reform. We'll let you know more about this new campaign soon!

As the year winds down, we're picking up steam—and we hope you'll join us in ringing in the New Year with the sound of liberty! Check out our new features, share them with friends, and consider donating to FIRE today.
