FIRE Reaches 500 Followers on Twitter

At the end of last year, I wrote that FIRE had recently joined the Twitter community, adding another tool to our effective media arsenal. Since that time, FIRE has been posting press releases and blogs, engaging alumni and current students at schools where we have cases, and answering questions from the general public. As a result, our support on Twitter has grown and in only a few short months, we have successfully reached 500 followers.

Our 500th member is @TMDForum, one of two official Twitter handles for The Michigan Daily, a student newspaper at the University of Michigan. This is the same paper that wrote several excellent op-eds last year when UM's College of Literature, Science and the Arts contemplated enacting a restrictive distribution policy that would have severely hampered the ability of student publications to operate on campus. Along with The Michigan Review, another student newspaper, student journalists at the paper led a charge to expose the policy's constitutional infirmities to the public.

I am excited to continue conversing with @TMDForum and the hundreds of others who have chosen to follow FIRE on Twitter. If you haven't already, join FIRE on Twitter today and help us reach an even greater audience!
