FIRE welcomes legal intern Kendall Burchard

FIRE is thrilled to announce that Kendall Burchard has joined us as a legal intern!

Kendall is a rising second-year student at the University of Virginia School of Law.

At Virginia, she serves as an articles editor for the Virginia Journal of International Law, the vice president of Virginia Law Women, and the director of outreach of Common Law Grounds, an organization focused on promoting civil discourse in the law school community and beyond. Kendall also competed on Virginia's Extramural Moot Court Team and won first place at the Craven Constitutional Law Moot Court Competition at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.

A native of Reno, Nevada, Kendall graduated summa cum laude from the University of Oklahoma in May 2016 with a Bachelors of Arts in Journalism, Professional Writing. At Oklahoma, Kendall focused her coursework on First Amendment issues through the journalism college and the university’s constitutional studies program.

In her free time, Kendall enjoys playing softball, hiking, writing musical parodies for Libel, the law school’s variety show, and listening to podcasts, including FIRE’s own So to Speak: The Free Speech Podcast.
