FIRE Welcomes Zach Greenberg as Summer Legal Intern

FIRE is glad to have Zachary Greenberg with us this summer as a 2015 legal intern, along with Lindsie Trego, whom we introduced yesterday here on The Torch.

Zach is a rising third-year student at Syracuse University College of Law. At law school, he enjoys oral argument and appellate work, having won the Mackenzie Hughes appellate advocacy competition and made the National Appellate Team. He is also a member of the Free Speech Working Group tasked with reforming policies that stifle free speech at Syracuse University. When he is not in the library, he enjoys playing chess and poker, going hiking, and watching his beloved New England Patriots win Super Bowls.

Zach grew up on Long Island, New York and graduated from Binghamton University with a B.A. in philosophy, politics, and law. With his law degree, he wants to defend the First Amendment rights of students, political protesters, religious organizations, and the adult entertainment industry.

And Zach has already contributed to The Torch. Last week, he wrote about novelist Ian McEwan’s plea to the Dickinson College Class of 2015 to defend freedom of speech even for those whose arguments they dislike.

Please join FIRE in extending a warm welcome to Zach!
