For general policy purposes, sexual harassment may be described as unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favors and [...] (3) such conduct has as the purpose or effect of substantially interfering with an individual's academic or professional performance or creating an intimidating, hostile or demeaning employment or educational environment. It is recognized that sexual harassment may take many forms, some of which may be very subtle, and that the victims of such harassment may be students, staff persons or faculty members.
