10. State and federal laws and subsequent legal interpretations mandate that a public environment, such as a school or workplace, be free of sexual harassment. When materials considered by some to be offensive (such as sexually suggestive pictures, nudity, explicit sexual language or others' behaviors) interfere with the comfort of others, a sexually intimidating or hostile environment may be created. Please be considerate of others' concerns as well as the law in your use of computers and materials in a public setting. NMC computers are never to be used for displaying sexually oriented material, either as pictures or text.
