Under this policy, harassment is any verbal or physical conduct that denigrates or shows hostility or aversion toward an individual because of her/his race, color, ancestry, religious creed, gender, national or ethnic origin, sex, sexual orientation, age, genetic information, disability, Vietnam Era veteran, qualified special, disabled veteran or other eligible veteran status or any other category protected by law that: 1) has the purpose or effect of creating an intimidating, hostile or offensive environment in which to work, study or live; 2) has the purpose or effect of unreasonably interfering with a person's education or work performance; or 3) otherwise adversely affects a person's employment or educational opportunities.
