Responsible exercise of freedom of speech. Members of the Hunter College community and invited guests have the right to express their opinions freely without fear of physical or verbal abuse. At the same time, language which is likely to provoke or encourage physical violence by demonstrators, by those demonstrated against, or by spectators, should not be used. In other words, each individual is obliged to present his/her views in a responsible way and work toward keeping communications between opposing sides civil and nonviolent.
