FIRE’s Washington, D.C., Office Seeks Communications and Advocacy Intern

FIRE is looking for a motivated undergraduate junior or senior, graduate student, or recent college graduate to join its Washington, D.C., office as an intern.

The communications and advocacy intern will help FIRE’s Washington, D.C., office run smoothly and effectively while assisting FIRE’s communications, litigation, and legislative staff. The intern’s responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, researching and writing about FIRE cases and issues, visiting and delivering FIRE materials to Capitol Hill, and contacting journalists and students about FIRE campaigns. An ideal candidate will be passionate about First Amendment rights and civil liberties, and will have an interest in communications and legislative policy. The internship is intended to run from late August/early September 2016 until December 2016, but start and end dates are negotiable.

The communications and advocacy intern will be paid $13.00 an hour, with an option to enroll in a commuter benefits program.
