Getting Started with the Campus Freedom Network

FIRE is pleased to welcome you to the Campus Freedom Network (CFN), a new tool in our continuing fight to protect individual rights at colleges and universities across the country. FIRE’s CFN was envisioned as a means of connecting students and faculty interested in basic rights and freedoms on campus, and we hope to see the CFN become a force in its own right for liberty on campus. We invite you to use the CFN’s website and resources to work in new ways to defend basic liberties on campus.

The CFN’s online home features an unprecedented level of interactivity for FIRE. CFN members are able to comment on the CFN blog; comment on FIRE’s posts to our original blog, The Torch; promote CFN-related events on your campus; and connect with faculty members and students across the country similarly engaged in working to ensure the preservation of individual rights.

One of the most important features of the CFN will be its flexibility in responding to the needs and concerns of its membership. Like the CFN itself, this website is a work-in-progress. We strongly encourage you to let us know which features work well, which could use some tuning, and which need to be added or dropped altogether. The CFN has the potential to be a powerful force in defense of liberty. We hope you will vigorously take part in this effort.
