Greg Goes Coast to Coast this Week for Events in California and New York

You can see FIRE President and CEO Greg Lukianoff on both coasts this week, as he jets off to talk campus speech at events in both Berkeley, California and Saratoga Springs, New York.

November 2: “Sex, Violence, and Revolution” at Berkeley

On Wednesday, November 2, the University of California, Berkeley’s Institute of Governmental Studies will feature Greg as the 2016 Baxter Liberty Initiative Lecturer. The Baxter Liberty Initiative is a program within Berkeley’s Department of Political Science that “features an intellectual leader whose expertise and scholarship focuses on the ideal of freedom in political and economic life.”

Greg will deliver his lecture—“Sex, Violence, and Revolution: Academic Freedom and the Law of Free Speech on Campus”—alongside respondent Dan Farber, who is Berkeley’s Sho Sato Professor of Law and the Co-Director of the Center for Law, Energy, and the Environment.

The event will take place in Sutardja Dai Hall’s Banatao Auditorium from 4:15-6:00 pm. The event is free and open to the public, but space is limited. You can register here.

November 5: “Intellectual Freedom for Breakfast” at the 2016 NYLA Conference

Then, on Saturday, November 5, Greg will be featured at the 2016 New York Library Association (NYLA) Conference in Saratoga Springs. Greg will present “Intellectual Freedom for Breakfast: The Freedom to Speak, the Freedom to Think: Defending the Marketplace of Ideas at American Colleges and Universities,” from 8:00-9:30 am.

While the NYLA conference and Greg’s talk are sold out, check back with NYLA’s website for information on last-minute availability or event video.
