Join FIRE for ‘Dinner & a Movie’ fundraiser in Aspen, Colorado, July 7

FIRE is pleased to announce a special screening of “Can We Take a Joke?” on July 7 at the Aspen Meadows Resort, home of The Aspen Institute. A reception and dinner will take place immediately after the screening and will include a discussion and Q&A with FIRE President and CEO Greg Lukianoff; FIRE’s Chief Research Officer and Director of the Aspen Center for Human Development, Pamela Paresky; comedian Karith Foster (featured in “Can We Take a Joke?”); and award-winning “Mother Goose & Grimm” cartoonist Mike Peters.

Described as a “necessary analysis of outrage culture’s relationship to comedy” by comedy giant Seth MacFarlane, “Can We Take a Joke?” humorously examines the collision between comedy and outrage culture, and its unexpected roots in the modern college campus.

Directed by Ted Balaker and narrated by comedian Christina Pazsitzky, the film features plenty of scandalous jokes and thoughtful commentary from comedy heavyweights including Adam Carolla, Gilbert Gottfried, Penn Jillette, Jim Norton, Lisa Lampanelli, Heather McDonald, and Foster.
