Joseph Nucci Joins FIRE as Executive Assistant to the President

Joseph Nucci is FIRE’s new executive assistant to the president, and the latest addition to our growing staff.

Joe graduated from Wesleyan University with a B.A. from the College of Social Studies (CSS) and a certificate in Social, Cultural and Critical Theory. CSS is an interdisciplinary program that combines history, economics, sociology, philosophy, and political science.

Outside of the classroom, Joe was active on the water polo team and the swim team and in multiple roles within the Office of Residential Life. Joe was engaged in community service as a member of the Psi Upsilon Fraternity and created the “A Penny for Your Thoughts” speaker series, which allowed students to give “TED Talk”-style presentations to the community and raise money for local charities. As a believer in the open exchange of ideas, Joe also helped create Wesleyan’s only nonpartisan publication to help elevate political discourse on campus. His love for free speech comes from his passion for politics, philosophy, and open debate.

A proud California native, Joe currently resides in Washington, D.C. When he is not fighting for free speech on college campuses, you can find him cooking, reading, writing, or exploring D.C. and its many museums.

We’re glad to have you aboard, Joe!
