Keep an Eye on Your School’s Speech Codes This Summer with FIRE’s Widgets

With the academic year ending and students turning their sights to summer jobs and internships, beach weeks, foreign travel, or lounging around on their parents' dime with gleeful abandon (enjoy it while it lasts, kids), many will likely divert their attention from the state of free speech on their campuses. Fortunately, FIRE's widgets are here to help them keep an eye on their schools.

FIRE's Spotlight and Speech Code of the Month Widgets offer a snapshot of the state of free speech at any of the nearly 400 schools in FIRE's Spotlight database, and help students stay up to date on who the biggest offenders are. The widgets can be viewed from personal web sites, blogs, or Facebook pages, and once installed will automatically update to reflect any changes. Setting them up takes minimal effort, allowing students to monitor their schools while going about their summer business.
