'Kindly Inquisitors' Cato Institute Book Forum, Featuring FIRE's Greg Lukianoff (VIDEO)

Earlier this week, the Cato Institute in Washington, D.C. hosted a book forum celebrating the release of the expanded, 20th anniversary edition of Jonathan Rauch’s 1993 book Kindly Inquisitors: The New Attacks on Free Thought.

Joining Jonathan as a speaker at the forum was FIRE President Greg Lukianoff and Brian Moulton of the Human Rights Campaign. Together, the three speakers explored the thesis of Kindly Inquisitors, which puts forth the idea that conflicting ideas produce knowledge within society. They also examined other issues surrounding attempts to limit free speech. For those who weren’t able to attend the book forum, Cato kindly released a video of the whole event:
