Appeal denied for OU student who authored ‘Hot for Teacher’ essay

An Oakland University student banned from campus for penning a "Hot for Teacher" essay for a writing class has been denied any future appeals of his ban by the school's president.

Oakland University President Gary Russi denied the appeal of Joe Corlett in a letter to the Philadelphia-based Foundation for Individual Rights in Education (FIRE) after the group tried to have Corlett reinstated.
