Increasingly, professors with academic-freedom complaints have been turning to younger groups, like the Foundation for Individual Rights in Education, which has a track record of moving quickly. It does not perform lengthy investigations. It simply sends an e-mail message to reporters, publicizing a professor’s problem with administrators.
