Michael Barone on ‘Ivory Tower Decay’
A column from well-known political analyst Michael Barone on Monday discusses the sad state of fundamental freedoms on campus today (on the way to making some more conservative political points). Barone praises FIRE for its efforts to document the prevalence of speech codes at America’s colleges and universities, concluding by saying, “It's too bad the rest of America is not paying more attention.” That’s true, and highlights the fact that while FIRE has made a lot of progress, there is still a great deal of work to be done in our fight to restore liberty to academia.
