Now accepting applications for FIRE’s Summer 2018 Legal Internship Program

Independence Hall, Philadelphia, PA

FIRE is now accepting applications for our 2018 Legal Internship Program.

FIRE’s Legal Internship Program invites rising second- and third-year law students to spend the summer in Philadelphia working with FIRE attorneys in defense of civil liberties on campuses nationwide.

Legal interns will perform vital research for FIRE’s Stand Up For Speech Litigation Project; assist FIRE’s Individual Rights Defense Program in responding to rights violations; evaluate both state and federal legislative proposals; and help FIRE’s Policy Reform Project secure policy changes to protect student and faculty freedoms of speech, association, conscience, and religion.

Legal internships may be paid or unpaid, depending on individual students’ particular needs. Pursuit of independent funding and public interest fellowships is encouraged.
