A survey conducted by FIRE and YouGov analyzed 2,225 college students’ attitudes toward due process and campus disciplinary proceedings on college campuses. The survey includes questions about procedural protections such as cross-examination and the participation of advisors, the purpose of campus disciplinary proceedings, and whether students feel campus disciplinary proceedings are fair to those involved. The results of the survey show that a majority of students on college campuses support due process protections for their peers in the cases of students breaking a campus rule, engaging in underage drinking, and engaging in sexual misconduct.
