2. Speakers generally are not banned from the campus solely because they advocate controversial ideas. However, it is recognized that other factors of concern may enter into the situation therefore, each student organization must obtain the approval of its faculty advisor before an invitation to a speaker is issued. It is further necessary that college administrative officials approve the use of any facility for such purposes.

4. To assure free and open discussion as an essential element of free institutions, the college President or his designee, when in valid judgement considers it appropriate, will require any of the following:

a. That the names of the speakers be submitted to the President’s Office or his designate(s) prior to extending the invitation to the speaker(s).

b. That the list of proposed speakers or the speaker, with biographical sketch, be submitted at least four weeks in advance of appearance on campus.

c. That the meeting be chaired by a member of college personnel, who is either an official or an authorized member of the faculty, and that an opportunity by provided at the meeting or soon thereafter (same time period) for the presentation of speakers or persons with different points of view. The meeting will be open to the public.
