Support FIRE's Video Fellow and Get Your Free Copy of Silverglate's Newest Must-Read Book Today!

Throughout December we called on Torch readers to support our newest initiative and donate to FIRE's 2010 Video Fellowship. As you know, if we raise $25,000 from individuals like you, FIRE donors Raymie Stata and Kimberly Sweidy have generously promised to double your contributions, making it possible for FIRE to host a one-year Video Fellow. The response has been overwhelming and we are proud to announce that we are now only $1,606 away from reaching our goal and hiring a Video Fellow who will capture FIRE's unbelievable cases on film! If you haven't done so yet, please consider donating to the Video Fellow Fund today. The sooner we raise the remaining $1,606, the sooner a fellow can start. We have seen the impact that our other short videos have had in getting the word out, and we are eager to see how much more we can accomplish.

We are hoping to meet our goal of $25,000 in one week, so we thought we would give potential donors a great incentive to make a gift today. FIRE will send FIRE Co-founder and Board Chairman Harvey A. Silverglate's critically acclaimed new book, Three Felonies a Day: How the Feds Target the Innocent, to the first ten people who donate $50 dollars or more to the matching fund. Harvey's book is a must-read and hiring a Video Fellow is crucial to FIRE's work to spread awareness about our issues. There is no better time to support FIRE than today, so be sure to get your donations to the video fellowship in quickly! (When sending in your gift either online or through the mail, include a note that you would like to receive a copy of the book.)

We are excited for the opportunity to bring you more videos in 2010!
