'Unlearning Liberty' Turns One, Paperback Edition Set for Release in March

Unlearning Liberty cover

Today marks the first anniversary of the publication of FIRE President Greg Lukianoff’s book Unlearning Liberty: Campus Censorship and the End of American Debate. Described as “a classic work on freedom in America” by University of Wisconsin professor Donald Downs and “powerfully argued” by New York Law School professor and former ACLU President Nadine Strossen, the book has changed the conversation about the effects of censorship both on and off campus. On this anniversary, FIRE is pleased to announce that an expanded, paperback edition of the book is set to be released March 11, 2014. The expanded edition will include a new afterword from the author, as well as a dedicated picture section. The paperback edition is now available for pre-order online. Order your copy today! All royalties from the purchase of any edition of the book go to FIRE.

In addition to marking Unlearning Liberty’s first birthday, we here at FIRE are gearing up to celebrate our organization’s 15th birthday next year! We will commemorate the occasion with a big, celebratory dinner one year from today, on October 23, 2014, in New York City. Already scheduled to speak at the event is Harvard professor and bestselling author Steven Pinker. For those interested in learning more about the event, or in buying tickets or a table, please write toanniversary@thefire.org. More information about the celebration and additional speakers will be forthcoming, so stay tuned!
